EU, Africa and Asia EVS Project: "YOUTH PLUS AWARENESS"
- 16 long-term volunteer placements. Volunteers from 7 EU countries (Austria, Estonia, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Sweden and UK) going to placements in 6 African countries (Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa and Uganda) and 3 Asian countries (India, Nepal and Vietnam)

This project aims at promoting transnational volunteer exchange programmes and practical training experiences in EU, African and Asian countries, and enabling specialized HIV/AIDS NGO’s to work alongside with youth voluntary service organisations in the field of HIV and AIDS education, prevention and care.
The project’s activities will entail the exchange of youth workers from youth voluntary service and HIV/AIDS NGO’s. This will foster the transfer of know-how regarding transnational voluntary service programmes and HIV/AIDS prevention work as well as foster partnership-building between youth and voluntary service NGO`S and HIV/AIDS projects in European, African and Asian countries. The project’s outcomes will be documented and published with a view to further promoting the concept of youth volunteering in HIV/AIDS prevention.

EU EECA European Voluntary Service Project on Social Inclusion and Cultural Diversity
- 14 long-term volunteers placements in EU and EECA countries (Austria, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Russian Federation, Ukraine)
- Dates: February 28, 2008 - November 28, 2008

The “EU EECA European Voluntary Service Project on Social Inclusion and Cultural Diversity” aims at fostering the role of international voluntary service in promoting intercultural dialogue and contributing to a better understanding between the EU and its neighbouring regions, particularly with and among the countries of the Eastern Europe and Caucasus region, as well as among the variety of social, ethnic and religious groups, living in our societies. It will enable 8 young people from EU countries to engage in voluntary service projects in EECA Countries and 6 young people from these countries to acquire experience by living and working in an EU country. The main project aims are to promote dialogue and foster partnership building between youth voluntary service NGO’s and institutions/centers working in the field of social inclusion. The young volunteers will engage in a variety of local hosting projects, ranging from youth clubs, disabled care and refugee centers to community development and social work projects. It is expected that the involvement of international volunteers in these projects will increase awareness about the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008 and stimulate discussions about cultural diversity and social inclusion.

EU and Asia EVS Project: “Youth and Intercultural Dialogue”
- 13 long-term volunteers placements in EU and Asia (Finland, Germany, Italy,
Lithuania, China, India, Nepal, Vietnam)
- Dates: September 24 2006 - June 24 2007
- Duration: 9 months
- With the support of the Youth In Action Programme of the European Community
- Organisers: ICYE International Office in cooperation with partner organizations in above mentioned countries
This multilateral EVS project is dedicated to the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue - 2008 which aims at alerting all the people living in the European Union to the fact that dialogue represents a prerequisite for living in, and benefiting from, an increasingly multicultural environment.The main project aim is to foster intercultural dialogue between youth from European and Asian Countries by enabling 8 young volunteers from 7 EU countries to engage in international voluntary service projects in 3 Asian countries and viceversa.
The young volunteers will engage in a variety of local hosting projects, ranging from youth clubs and youth initiated networks to community development and social work projects. The involvement of international volunteers in these projects will stimulate intercultural dialogue, as well as promote volunteerism among the youth in the respective host communities.
During the Voluntary Service experience, the group of volunteers in EU countries and the group in Asian countries will have the opportunity to meet at joint Mid-Term Evaluation meetings. These meetings apart from enriching the intercultural learning process and providing additional support are an opportunity to share experience and exchange opinions with regards to the situation of youth, youth work and youth policies in different EU and Asian countries.

EU and Africa EVS Project on Social Inclusion

This multilateral EVS project is dedicated to the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue – 2008 which aims at alerting all the people living in the European Union to the fact that dialogue represents a prerequisite for living in, and benefiting from, an increasingly multicultural environment. EU and Latin America EVS project on participation of young people
- 16 long-term volunteer placements in EU and Latin America ( Estonia, Italy, Lithuania, Spain, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador)
- Dates: September 21st 2006- May 21st 2007
- Duration: 9 months

This EU - LA multilateral EVS project, which was proposed by EU and Latin American youth workers during the EU LA seminar “ Youth in Action” held in Porto Alegre, Brazil in February 2006, is a reciprocal exchange project involving sending and receiving on both sides, EU and Partner Countries in Latin America. It will enable 9 young people from EU countries to engage in voluntary service projects in Latin American Countries and 7 young people from these countries to acquire experience by living and working in an EU country.
The main project aims are to enhance young people’s participation, leadership skills and their engagement in civil society by involving them in local development activities run with and for young people, targeting particularly young people in rural areas or from vulnerable groups. The young volunteers will engage in a variety of local hosting projects, ranging from youth clubs and youth initiated networks to community development and social work projects. The involvement of international volunteers in these projects will stimulate increased interest, discussion and practice of volunteerism in the host communities.
During the Voluntary Service experience, the group of volunteers in EU countries and the group in Latin American countries will have the opportunity to meet at joint Mid-Term Evaluation meetings. These meetings apart from enriching the intercultural learning process and providing additional support are an opportunity to share experience and exchange opinions with regards to the situation of youth, youth work and youth policies in EU and Latin American countries.
