Volunteers For Peace Vietnam (VPV) was founded in Vietnam in 2005 as a voluntary non-profit organization with the aim to promote international voluntary service as a mean of cultural and educational exchange among people, for peace, friendship and understanding and as an approach to address social problems. VPV became an ICYE partner in October 2006. The office is located in Hanoi and run by five full time staff.
Placements include social work at orphanages and disabled children centres, teaching in schools and universities, editing work at local NGOs, manual work at organic farms, etc. Exchange with local volunteers in periodic activities organised by participants and co-workers. Most host placements are in Hanoi or nearby provinces while VPV is expanding its programs in Ho Chi Minh City. Most participants live in VPV’s dormitories or with host families. A few residential voluntary service projects are available.
VPV is a member of Network of Voluntary Development in Asia (NVDA), CCIVS, and cooperates with ALLIANCE members.
