ASERMUN (Asociación Juvenil Serena-Mundo) is a non-profit youth NGO established in Extremadura (Spain) in 2005, thanks to a Future Capital project of the European Commission. It receives support from and closely cooperates with the local authority and other institutions in Castuera, Badajoz (Spain). Its main aim is to promote youth mobility and international volunteering for young people living in rural areas.
ASERMUN has been cooperating with ICYE since its inception. Its main activities are: European Voluntary Service (EVS) projects, and short term exchanges "Youth for Europe" within the framework of the EU Youth Programme; long and short-term exchange of volunteers, as well as seminars and workshops on issues relevant to the local youth and communities.
Long term voluntary service placements are local community projects working in the filed of culture, education, promoting equal opportunities, human rights. In particular projects work with children, youth, disabled, and migrants groups.
