The International Youth Association EstYes is a non-profit, non-political,
non-governmental organization. It was established in 1991 and officially registered
in 1995 with the purpose to promote youth and cultural exchanges to increase international
understanding, mutual respect and solidarity between countries and people.
It is a pioneer organization in the field of youth voluntary service in Estonia.
At the annual meeting of members the board, which consists of 5 members, is elected.
EstYes organises work camps in Estonia and sends Estonian volunteers abroad as well
as sends and hosts long term volunteers from/to Estonia. EstYes also organises and
takes part in the international conferences, seminars, training activities.
In 2000 EstYes hosted 4 mid-term volunteers, 1 EVS volunteer (6 months) and 4 long-term
(12 months) volunteers on various social projects. In the year 2001 EstYes coordinates
6 long-term (8 months) EVS projects and host 1 EVS volunteer in the office for 10 months.
Although there is no maximum age limit to participate in EstYes projects we work
mainly with young people 16 - 26 years old. The majority of them are students, both sexes,
originating mainly from urban areas.
EstYes cooperates with SCI (Service Civil International),
YAP (Youth Action for Peace), the Federation Experiment in International Living and ICYE.
It is a member of the Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organizations and Eastlinks -
Platform of Eastern and Central Europe Voluntary Service Organizations.
