| organisation |
IKU (Internationellt KulturUtbyte) was founded in 1973 and
joined the ICYE Federation in 1995 as National Committee for Sweden.
We are specialised in sending and receiving volunteers from the ICYE as
well as EVS volunteer prorgamme. We send about 30 volunteers every year
and receive 15.
IKU works nation wide and has over 1000 members, who locally organise
seminars, photo exhibitions, school projects on international issues.
IKU's local chapters also work on international human rights projects,
i.e. with Sri Lanka. Since June 2005 is the official Swedish ex-volunteer
organisation, which organises activities for former volunteers of four
different volunteer organisations. IKU has two part time employees in
the office which is situated in the house of the Solidarity movement in
Stockholm.
