Inter Cultural Dialogue & Exchange - India, (ICDE - India), founded in 2006 by a group of former ICYE volunteers is a non-profit registered society, whose main aim is to promote youth mobility and international voluntary service exchanges worldwide. ICDE-India is a secular organisation, head quartered in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. It is run by two full-time staff, board members, volunteers and well-wishers. ICDE-India became ICYE National Committee Member in 2007.
The main stay of its programme is the short and long-term exchange of young volunteers, aged between 18 and 30. Most of the voluntary service host placements will be in residential volunteer work projects in Karnataka and in adjacent South Indian states. Host organisations include projects working with destitute children, street children, orphans, disabled (mentally, physically, visually), old age homes, people suffering with HIV/AIDS, and also NGOs providing health care, agriculture / farming, women’s projects, rural and community development, etc. ICDE-India also offers, upon request, opportunities to learn/study yoga, Indian music and Indian classical dance, music, herbal medicine, Indian philosophy, spirituality, etc.
