Maailmanvaihto – ICYE Finland was founded in 1958. Maailmanvaihto has an office in Helsinki and a good network of active co-workers. The organisation is independent with close ties with other voluntary service organisations. |

About half of the exchangees live with host families, the other half at their work placement or boarding school. |

Voluntary service
Voluntary service projects are mostly residential projects dealing with handicapped people or day care centres and other social institutions for children. Some of the volunteers are placed in host families.
Folk high school Some exchangees have an opportunity to spend their exchange year in a residential folk high school (educational opportunities for personal and skills development). Courses offered vary from school to school.
High school Exchangees below 18 years of age have an opportunity to choose a high school programme. High school students live in host families.

Besides regular ICYE camps, a special week-end activity is normally organised in November. Various leisure time activities are organised by exchangees themselves or by active co-workers. |
