The ICYE programme in Costa Rica started in 1967. ICYE Costa Rica became ACI in 1983. The office is located in Guadalupe, San Jose, with a five staff team. Most staff and co-workers are former exchangees. |

There is a large variety of projects including working with: homeless children, homes for the elderly, sick or homeless people, health clinics, human rights organisations, indigenous groups, primary schools, youth organisations, and social projects in general. With prior consultation with ACI staff opportunities to work in environmental projects are also available. |

Meetings on different national issues during the year, cultural and artistic events.
ACI Costa Rica organises also eco-camps, work camps, runs an environmental education project (Yàblö Yàmipa) and short-term exchanges with other Latin American and European countries.
