Founded in 1969 under the name Internationale Jongeren Uitwisseling (IJU). In 1993
merged with Vrijwillige Internationale Aktie (VIA - a member of Service Civil International-SCI).
VIA/ICYE Belgium has an office in Antwerp and operates both long and short-term youth exchanges. |

For the long-term exchanges 18 - 30, work camps: 18 up, no max. Flemish. Please note that
VIA/ICYE Belgium is active only in the Flemish part of Belgium. |

Host families in their various forms (also singles, with or without children)in the
outskirts of cities and small towns. Residential voluntary service projects. |
| programme |
Voluntary service projects include working with the disabled,
children, youth, the elderly, at fair-trade shops, cultural centres, at eco-farms,
and vocational training centres, at international offices, administration.

| conf./seminars |
Two weeks orientation/language course, residential. One day evaluation in September for
exchangees, on for host families: with training on communication and conflict resolution.
Midyear-evaluation around Christmas. One day for everyone involved in the year programme / relaxed day out
together. End-evaluation camp in June.
Optional: seminars for work camps, "Big Weekend of VIA" in October on different topics
(solidarity, ecology,...) Training weekend in November for co-workers (communication, conflict resolution,
intercultural learning).
